Mel Birchenall

Mel Birchenall was born in Uganda in 1954, and has been painting since the age of 18.  While at Teacher’s Training College her focus was in animation and the handling of different painting media.

She also attended classes with Ian Poulton (Slade) for 15 years and attended Master Classes with acclaimed portrait painter, Ken Paine.

Mel has a special interest in portraiture and life drawing and has painted numerous commissions over the years.
