Since I was able to hold a crayon or paintbrush, I painted.
The bright colours of a box of crayons or a watercolour palette was always far more intriguing to me than any new toy.
Naturally, art was my favourite subject through my school years in Hannover, Germany, where I grew up, and I eventually became a student at the University of Art & Design there.
In the late 70’s, I spent some time on the ‘Nature’ island of Dominica and was so intrigued by the unique mystical light and the unmatched intensity of the colours, that I made the Caribbean my home.
Over the years, I kept experimenting with different media and styles, with oils becoming my favourite. 
I had solo group shows in the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, France and Germany, as well as Martinique, Antigua, Guadeloupe and Dominica.
My work can now be found in hotels, homes and private collections all over the world.
Through my paintings I hope to capture the Caribbean as I see it: raw, splendid, sensual and vibrant.
